Dr Helen Rutter   PhD

Dr Helen Rutter is a Senior Hydrogeologist and Business Manager (Water and Land) for Aqualinc Research Ltd, a NZ-based consultancy, where she has worked for the past 9 years. She has an in-depth understanding of physical hydrogeology, and expertise in the application of GIS techniques. In recent years she has been working with GNS on research into the impacts of the Canterbury earthquakes. Prior to working in NZ, Helen was a Senior Scientist for the British Geological Survey, specialising in physical hydrogeological processes in the Chalk aquifer of the UK. She is a Chartered Geologist (Geological Society of London), Fellow of the University of Canterbury, and member of the Executive Committee of the Hydrological Society of NZ. In her spare time, she enjoys running, cycling and skiing, with her three teenage daughters and husband.
