Dr Richard George   PhD

Dr Richard George is a Principal Research Scientist in the DAFWA - NRM Science.He is responsible for the coordination and delivery of Land and Water research and leads Major Projects and Catchment Hydrology areas. 

 Richard has;

  • An international reputation in catchment hydrology (land and water) and published 170 papers and reports,


  • Was awarded a Churchill Fellowship (1995), W.E. Wood National Award for Excellence in Salinity Research and Development (2000) and Institution of Engineers Award (2003),


  • Richard currently has 20 active project operating in areas such as:
    • Ord Expansion (irrigation)
    • Groundwater resource assessment
    • Resource condition monitoring & modelling
    • Drainage and revegetation systems analysis
    • Climate impact assessment
    • Modelling and spatial analysis
    • Policy advice


  • Richard has been a regular member of IAH since the early 1980s.
