Mr Gary Humphreys

Gary Humphreys is currently the Regional Manager of North West Western Australia, at the Department of Water since 2014. 

 

Previously Gary started his career at the Senior Geophysicist with Scintrex from 1979 and was the project manager for mineral exploration programs in Australia and Asia.  He was also involved with major projects and logistics in China, Pakistan, Japan, Laos and New Zealand and provided training for the United Nations in Laos.

 

In 1993 Gary moved to Darwin to take up the position of Supervising Geophysicist with the Northern Territory Government.  This position involved project management for water investigations, water exploration geophysics, borehole logging and downhole geophysics.

 

April 2005 saw Gary move back to Western Australia to join the Department of Water as one of their Senior Hydrogeologists.  He was heavily involved with mining and mineral exploration and water licencing; environmental impact assessment for major projects; worked on tropical horticulture water assessments, approvals and licencing; and was also a technical presenter for the mining and drilling industry.
