Colin Hazel   BE

Colin Hazel has nearly 50 years experience in Groundwater resource assessment, monitoring and management. He has worked on numerous water resource projects throughout Australia at both a technical and management level and has presented numerous papers at both national and international conferences.

Colin has lectured on Groundwater for nearly 40 years and his Groundwater Hydraulics Notes (provided as part of the courses) are still in use today. He has worked for the Department of Natural Resources for 35 years. At that time he was Principal Engineer - Assessment and Monitoring with Statewide responsibility for groundwater, surface water, water quality and data acquisition.

He has extensive experience in groundwater assessment and artificial recharge and has been actively involved in the activities of the (then) Australian Water Resources Council; chairing the Water Resources Management Committee, Groundwater Committee and the Steering Committee for the Great Artesian Basin (GAB). He initiated the program to rehabilitate the uncontrollable bores in the GAB. He was also co-ordinator of the QLD Water Quality Task Force.

We welcome Colin to SRIT as one of Australias' most experienced and well-known senior Groundwater Lecturers.
