Dr John Bradd   PhD

Dr John Bradd has 27yrs experience as a hydrogeologist directing, coordinating, managing and conducting groundwater and water resource management projects in Australia and in South East Asia. Over that time, John has had opportunity to explore groundwater issues from all industry sectors including Federal government (ANSTO), State Government (NSW Dept of Water Resouces/Land & Water Conservation), private consulting firms and academic institutions (University of New South Wales, University of Technology, Sydney, and University of Wollongong).

Currently he is founding Director and Principal Hydrogeologist of Hydrogeological Solutions Pty Ltd and Principal Honorary Fellow at the University of Wollongong. In 2012, John led a team at the University of Wollongong to conduct three of the Bioregional Assessment studies in the Sydney Metro-Hawkesbury Nepean and Southern Rivers Catchment Management Authority Areas. In these studies, an assessment of the impacts and hazards of Coal Seam Gas and Coal Mining Activities were carried out, focusing on the Sydney Geological Basin. Many insights were gained from this study regarding the validity of the available data that ultimately gets used for making legislation and policy decisions on CSG. Dr Bradd has several research projects running through his Honours and Post graduate students on coal seam gas impacts to groundwater systems.
