Environmental Resources Training for Our Future
Dr Ben Petrides   PhD

Ben has over 14 years’ experience in the environmental consulting industry advising major mining, oil and gas, government and private clients.

Ben provides high level groundwater support within the Coffey group and in particular for support of the Audit, Remediation, Mining, Geotechnics and Assessment teams. Ben has extensive experience in groundwater resource assessment and investigation, physical hydrogeological and aquifer testing, contaminant hydrogeology and hydrogeochemistry, fate and transport modelling and natural attenuation monitoring, numerical flow and contaminant groundwater modelling, groundwater remediation solutions, dryland salinity, environmental impact assessments, wastewater re-use, landfill leachate modelling, mine dewatering and development of performance reporting systems.

Other groundwater modelling experience includes contaminant transport and decay modelling of organic pollutants, particle transport modelling, and impact modelling associated with wastewater storage, re-use and irrigation schemes.

Areas of hydrology experience include water balance modelling using Opsim and Goldsim for modelling of mine water process circuits, water supply reliability assessment, including the effects of climate change. Ben also is experienced in modelling of surface water systems and runoff generation, at scales ranging from local site models through to stream catchment and river basin models.

Ben is a professional member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists and International Association of Hydrogeologists.
